The Fall Newsletter was published on November 9th. If you did not receive a digital copy please let a board member know. It is also on the website under Newsletters. We do not print the Fall Newsletter, it is digital only.
HL water level is a little over a foot below spill level. It was opened on October 23. It keeps going up and down with the rainfall we receive. BB water level is still fairly high as it was opened on October 31 and has not made significant progress on draining water. BB needs a safety team to open the valves, therefore the CC does not always open the valves at the same time on both lakes (the BB level increased after HL valves were opened and before BB valves were opened). We still a need a volunteer from BB to serve as a contact person for the Canal Corporation. It should be someone who is at the lake year round.
We hope to post the HBBLA Fall 2025 Board Meeting Minutes as soon as they are approved by all BOD Members (which should be soon).
We need an HL District 3 Director. At this time there is no one in the position. Someone can be voted in by the HBBLA BOD as Acting HL District 3 Director until an election can be held.
Important Information:
DUES INCREASE TO $50 FOR 2026. DUES DUE BY JULY 1 TO VOTE.
DUES, PROXY FORMS AND NOMINATION FORMS DUE BY JULY 1, 2026.
HBBLA Annual Meeting: July 18, 2026 9 am registration, 9:30 meeting.
Fall Newsletter will, hopefully, be out late October or early November.

June 29, 2025 Approximately 4-5 am there was a huge rain storm with lightning, thunder, and hail. We received between 3.5-4 inches of rain. Upon awakening the lake water level was very high and continued to rise throught the day. Lakers were urge to create no wake. Debris as well as dock pieces were floating. Westcott Rd. approaching the stop sign at Fisk Rd. was closed due to water across the road. Many basements were wet and or flooded. People were urged to use extreme caution.
May 30, 2025 The beaver dam at the Madison County Children's camp broke and the whole pond went into Bradley Brook Reservoir. There are islands of debris floating around the lake. Clean up begins on Saturday May 31. Be cautious while on the lake at this time. There are huge trees and other debris that could be under the surface of the water. More information to follow.
May 7, 2024: Good morning. It has been very rainy for the last several days and HL is now above spill level. BB's level is coming up also. Several HBBLA members attended the NYSFOLA Conference in Lake George last weekend. There were a few awards presented to HBBLA members at the conference. 👏🏽
April 21, 2025: Hatch Lake water level is still low, about 5-6 inches below spill level. It has been increasing a very little bit since the Canal Corporation put the valves to summer level on Thursday April 10th. BB is still much lower. The valves were returned to summer levels on April 24, 2025. The reason the valves were not closed sooner was that there wasn't a dive team. BB requires a dive team to adjust the valves (either open or closed).
